In 2023, the Centre national des arts plastiques (Cnap) is launching a call for applications "Create a vase" as a continuation of the State's commissions in the field of visual arts. The aim of this new commission is to recognise and encourage the vitality of contemporary creation in the field of design, decorative arts and crafts.

The call for applications is aimed at designers and creators committed to a forward-looking approach. The objective of this commission is to allow the winners to produce a unique piece or a prototype resulting from original experimental research specific to this commission. It aims to encourage technical innovation and unique collaborations.

The commission will allow the creation of 10 vases, free of rights, which will join the collection of the Centre national des arts plastiques. The winners may subsequently consider producing a small, medium or large-scale edition with a publisher, or self-publishing.

El Temps de les Arts is a digital portal for the promotion of Catalan culture in the fields of visual arts, heritage, architecture, performing arts and music. With the aim not only of disseminating their creations and programming, but of sharing knowledge and promoting the visibility and the transformative effect of culture.

The El Temps de les Arts Awards have reached their third edition! These Awards were created to stimulate innovation and to recognize the talent of creators and projects carried out in the various artistic fields of all Catalan-speaking territories. Artists can apply in seven different categories: visual arts, classical music, performing arts, architecture, heritage, experimental cinema, popular music. Three finalist projects will be selected from each category: an award for the winner and two runners-up.

The “Premis rei En Jaume 2023” has come to its 21st edition! These awards are promoted by the Department of Culture of the Calvià Town Hall with the aim of encouraging artistic creation in different disciplines and to boost the cultural activity of Calvià. The “Premis rei En Jaume” is part of the larger festivities called Fiestas del Rei En Jaume, the most representative cultural event of Calvià, commemorating the landing of the troops of King Jaume I on the coast of Santa Ponça in 1229.

Participants can choose among four different categories, each with its own winner and prize: photography, theater, poetry, and comics. Although the theme is free in all categories and although it is not compulsory, the jury will especially value the presence of Calvià in the theme of the participating works or the relationship of these with the municipality, either in a literal or metaphorical way.

The artists participating in the categories of comics and photography can present their application from the 5th to the 15th of June.

For theater and poetry, the applications are open from the 26th of June to the 6th of July.

PACA_ Proyectos Artisticos Casa Antonino is a project centered on contemporary arts, environmental and community-based practices and artistic education, that offers programs of international artist residency. This project began in 2013 as a “artist run space” at the initiative of the artist Virginia Lopez in an old farmhouse in the rural area of Gijón (Asturias).

PACA creates, organizes, and produces cultural projects. Its aim is to realize theoretical studies and field work based on artistic themes and to promote its diffusion through publications (pacabooks) and digital media.

This open call is directed to artists who want to challenge themselves and discover Asturias with an artist residency in Gijón. The beautiful rural surroundings provided by PACA are perfect to get in direct contact with nature and explore creativity.

The María José Jove Foundation with the University of Coruña, through NORMAL, the Space of Cultural Intervention by UDC, are promoting the 3rd edition of their program of Artistic Residency FMJJ. The aim of this project is to examine the relationships among artistic creation, critical thinking, and social participation, while promoting creative projects of social interest. 

This artistical residency program contributes to the interpretation of contemporary issues and offers a new perspective on them. For this reason, the call is directed to those artists who consider the importance of the territory, of ecology and the cultural and natural heritage of Galicia. According to the promoting organizations these fundamental themes should intertwine with contemporary arts in a multidisciplinary collaboration. For this edition there are two places available.

The call is open from the 14th of March and will close on the 12th of June.
