The Resistance of nothingness

Artists from all artistic disciplines, media and practices can submit concrete exhibition projects, concepts, artistic interventions, as well as portfolios to this international call for proposals, currently organised by the Tyrolean Artists' Association for the programme 2024 I Kunstpavillon & Neue Galerie Innsbruck (Austria). Among other things, the following are expected: a concept description (max. 1000 words), visual material, sketches, visualisation and the like, technical details, or a portfolio or documentation of the work (films and video works via Vimeo or YouTube or Dropbox links), as well as a cost description and a CV. The realisation of the projects will be accompanied by curatorial and production support. The jury for 2023 is presented on the website below.

The Tiroler Künstler:innenschaft reserves the right to carry out its own mediation programmes tailored to the exhibition project.

Budget: per submitted project max. EUR 3,500 for the Kunstpavillon, EUR 2,500 for the Neue Galerie Innsbruck. The following costs will be covered by the institution: Printing costs (flyers, posters, exhibition brochure, etc.); translation costs, set-up team, marketing, application & public relations, insurance, etc.

Avenir Art and Crafts 2023 Prize

This competition launched by Institut National des Métiers d'Art (INMA) aims to highlight young talent by offering them the opportunity to demonstrate their creativity, but above all their vision when dealing with materials. Promoting young talents, future economic players in the professions of passion and creation, is at the heart of this initiative. Please note that each regional 1st prize will be invited to compete before the national jury in Paris.

The programme will include visits to workshops or museums, meetings with professionals, a photo report, privileged access to announcements and calls for applications published by INMA and its partners, and registration in the network of former prize winners.

The national winners will also benefit from visibility in the press, at INMA events and on its communication media (website, social networks, publications, etc.), and from support in developing their professional career.

Who are the eligible candidates? All young people under 26 years of age, in initial training (full-time or apprenticeship) in the arts and crafts. 

How to submit your application? Candidates must submit their application to their school principal, which will then be sent to the academy rector and to INMA.

Deadline: 15/03/2023, but this opportunity is launched every year

Prizes and Scolarships "Pilar Juncosa y Sotheby's 2023"

The Pilar and Joan Miró Foundation in Mallorca, following the will of its founders, wants to promote and spread contemporary creative values, to help the young generations of artists during their training and encourage them in their commitment to innovation and the sincere search for new paths of creation. To do that, the Foundation wants to collaborate in the recognition of his creative and vital example through educational programs and projects that bring contemporary art closer to society. 

For this reason, the Pilar and Joan Miró Foundation has announced the following awards and scholarships for 2023:

  • Pilar Juncosa and Sotheby's Biennial Award for Artistic Creation 
  • Pilar Juncosa Scholarship for an Artistic Education Project 
  • (4) Scholarship for training in the Courses of the Graphic Work Workshops of Joan Miró
  • 2 Residence grants in the House of Velázquez in Madrid
  • 1 Residence grant and participation in The Slade School of Fine Art
  • Training scholarship for the winners of the Graphic Art Contest for Young Creators

2nd "Almuzara" Painting Prize

2nd "Almuzara" Painting Prize

“Editorial Almuzara” is a publishing group based in Andalusia and is now organizing the Second Edition of their Painting Contest, with the aim to promote art and culture through painting.

The 2nd Almuzara Painting Prize is open to artists over eighteen years old, of any nationality and with legal residence in Spain. The theme of the artwork must be related to the world of literature and books, but any preferred technique can be used.

You can submit your application from the 28th of February 2023 and the 31st of July 2023.

The decision will be made public at the official opening of the exhibition, open to the public, to be held in Seville, with the selected works.

CONTEST "BEST PHOTOGRAPHY AND SHORT FILM" AND PUBLIC VOTED PRIZE

UVEME is a company based in Barcelona that produces audio-visual content, with a focus on documentaries, music videos and animation. They are collaborating with CHIESI España and MPS Lisosomales for the second edition of the International Photography and Short-film Contest about rare diseases. This year, the contest is dedicated to Alfa Manosidosis, an ultra-rare disease part of the group of lysosomal diseases. It affects between one and nine newborns in one million. One of CHIESI's main challenges is to help find solutions through research and development, as well as working with patient associations and healthcare professionals to improve under-diagnosis. This competition is aimed at photography and film enthusiasts, as well as health professionals.

VI Mini Print International Cantabria

SM Pro Art Circle is an organisation based in Cantabria (Spain), directed by Andrea Juan and Gabriel Penedo Diego. They advise, develop, promote, and produce events related to contemporary art with our own projects or external proposals.

The organization is promoting the “Mini Print Internacional Cantabria” a contest that has reached its 6th edition. The aim is to celebrate their passion for graphic design and bring together contemporary artists from around the world in an exhibition in the unique territory of Santander.
