The third artist who will be exhibited in Paris is Miriam Campolongo. Miriam is an architect who explored many different techniques over her artistic career. Her first passion was photography, but in the YAE exhibition in Paris she will expose gouache and linocut artworks that will allow us to discover her heterogeneous art.
Miriam was born in Salerno (Italy) and lives in Paris since 2011. Thanks to her university studies in Architecture, she developed artistic skills that brought her to experiment a number of techniques and styles. Miriam is passionate about photography, but she also creates her artworks with ceramic, gouache, oil and linocut. In Italy, she launched a photographic project on the strong earthquake that devastated the Campania and Basilicata regions in 1980. Miriam is now also making pop jewelry out of recycled materials. Artistic Statement My passion is to use different techniques to express different ideas and feelings. From linocut to gouache painting, from photography to ceramics, these techniques drive me through a variety of dimensions and styles. My original inspiration came from the field of architecture, which allows me to blend my architect skills with a sensitivity about spaces, embodied by natural and urban landscapes. I like using the black and white style as I think that it gives an oneiric touch to my linocut artworks. As a photograph, I try to explore the perception of places and our interaction with them. The artistic aesthetic choices in my paintings and drawings help me to explore dream-like dimensions and I hope that will invite you to reflect on the depth of human emotions.
