Tïen is our first artist who will exhibit at the YAE exhibition in Paris. He will expose his wide collection of paintings that will guide us through different styles and techniques.
Tïen is a self-taught painter drawing inspiration from his studies in Sociology, as well as from his work at the Musée d’Art Moderne of Paris where he had the opportunity to get acquainted with masterpieces from a variety of artists from Matisse to Andy Warhol. Tïen's atypical background gives him great artistic freedom, which he expresses through acrylic, collage and ink pen techniques. Artistic Statement As a student in Sociology, I always scribbled my way through never-ending courses. As a museum attendant, my boredom was alleviated by sketching the great masters’ artworks on display. Matisse, De Chirico, Picasso and Warhol have been my teachers! In my paintings, I draw inspiration from current events, revealing my sensitivity to contemporary society. At the same time, through my art I try to open an imaginative and metaphysic universe, as an invitation to explore inner and intimate dimensions. The result is a patchwork of different styles, techniques and themes, through which I wish to bring my personal edge to each painting, with the aim to question the reality around us.
